A forehead lift serves to selectively smooth the forehead region and to raise the eyebrows. Very good results can be achieved through both conservative measures like thread lifting and neuromodulator (botulinum toxin) brow lifting, as well as through surgical procedures such as the endoscopic or open brow lift.
Unfortunately, the forehead and eyebrow region is often completely ignored when the face is rejuvenated. A wrinkled forehead and low eyebrows cannot be addressed by a conventional facelift. Lifting the upper face – either using conservative measures or through surgery – can be a sensible cosmetic measure to create a younger and fresher appearance for those suffering from an ageing forehead or deep-seated eyebrows.
Neuromodulators (botulinum toxin) can be used to smooth wrinkles in the forehead region and, when injected correctly, to raise the eyebrows. This effect lasts for 3-6 months and must be repeated to maintain the success of the treatment.
Thread lifting has also proved its worth in this region. Besides the more conservative methods, a surgical forehead lift/eyebrow lift can be used to achieve a permanently improved condition by tightening the forehead, raising the eyebrows and at the same time removing excess skin. The resulting scars sit within the hairline and become hidden over time. It is also possible to lift just this region by means of a selective eyebrow lift.

After a detailed consultation and a comprehensive check-up, we will decide together which parts of your forehead should be tightened and whether conservative methods are sufficient or if you need an operation. You must not take any aspirin or other blood-thinning medication 14 days prior to the surgery.
During your pre-op consultation, we will tell you exactly which medicines you are allowed to take and which you should stop taking before and on the day of the operation.
If a satisfactory result can be achieved with neuromodulators (botulinum toxin), the intervention takes just a few minutes.
If you require an operation, this lasts around 2 hours and is usually performed under general anaesthetic or, if desired, under sedation.
For treatment with neuromodulators (botulinum toxin), you can see the results within 7-14 days. In the case of an operation, the results are visible immediately – despite localised swelling and small hematomas. The final results will stabilise after 4-6 weeks. You can return to your normal routine after 14 days.
All operations carry a risk. We will discuss all of the potential surgical risks with you in detail prior to the operation. As cosmetic surgery constitutes what is known as an elective, voluntary intervention, it is even more important that the patient is fully informed and prepared for the operation.
