The skin around the eyelids is incredibly thin. Since there is hardly any firming subcutaneous fat tissue, the signs of aging appear particularly early here. Typical consequences are the dreaded crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes or tear troughs under the eyes.
Some people develop bags under the eyes. These have nothing to do with tears. They consist of fatty tissue and lymph fluid and are the result of weak connective tissue and a sagging eyelid muscle. Causes include age, personal predisposition, lifestyle, and the intensity of sun exposure. For example, regular UV exposure significantly reduces skin elasticity, leading to age spots or dilated capillaries. These can also be treated with the laser.

We inform you about the advantages and disadvantages of the treatment and the results you can expect. We also discuss side effects, downtime, and possible combinations. The medical team at Bonn Aesthetics examines the skin area to be treated and creates an individual treatment plan for you.
The eye area is first cleaned and disinfected. Then, we numb the area with local anesthesia. Alternatively, a so-called twilight sleep is possible, so you can “sleep through” the treatment comfortably. Either way, the treatment is almost painless. Once the anesthesia takes effect, we start. The laser impulses are delivered precisely and accurately to the skin.
A session lasts between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on the skin type and desired result. The intensity of the laser is adjusted to the skin structure. You may feel a slight warming sensation on your skin.
If needed and desired, we also treat the area around the cheekbones and cheeks. To smooth out fine lines and strengthen the overall skin structure. If you are also bothered by droopy eyelids, this treatment can be done in the same session.
Allow yourself a few days of rest after the laser-assisted lower eyelid tightening and give your body time to regenerate. This accelerates the healing phase and helps reduce redness and swelling.
