Welcome to our plastic and cosmetic surgery practice in Bonn!
When it came to planning the practice, we wanted to create a space unlike anything else of its kind in Bonn. We wanted to design something different from a typical doctor’s surgery.
Based on the notion of a “concept store” from the fashion industry, our fundamental idea for the practice was to create a clean “industrial look” for the interior, which is naturally complemented by organic elements. We wanted a clean, linear interior design for the practice, but one that felt warm and safe for our patients.
The practice consists of three basic architectural elements, which build upon one another. A hand-poured, polished concrete floor provides a minimalist foundation. Oak, concrete, plants and glass form the central construction, while an interlinked lighting system with adjustable colour temperature completes the space.
The integrated green elements are based on real forest floors and serve as organic anchors. The honey-coloured oak adds a warm contrast to the cooler concrete floor, while the glass adds a weightless element to the room. The space is fully air-conditioned to a natural temperature.
The first thing that you encounter when you enter the practice is our solid oak and concrete counter. It forms the central anchor point of everything that we do. It is asymmetrical by design and has so many different angles that our joiner actually earned a mathematical prize for the perfect, seamless integration of the monobloc units from design to planning.
In the reception area, we have laid out a carpet for you. Here you are greeted with cold drinks of your choice and our Barista Bar, from which you can choose your favourite coffee. For your entertainment, you can access all the major streaming platforms or can play the music of your choice via the networked speakers. We don’t want you to feel like a guest – we want you to feel completely at home.
By the way, did you know that the rug beneath your feet is a 70-year-old, hand-knotted Persian rug that has been fully restored and redyed in the practice colours?
We didn’t want to create just any guest bathroom – instead, we wanted to create a surprising organic highlight to punctuate the cool, linear design of the practice. The concept was to design a clear, natural forest element – a mini oasis into which our patients can retreat to freshen themselves up. Each individual oak wall panel has been inserted by hand (the panels are over a kilometre long in total!) and hand-oiled. The panels are complemented with large glass surfaces and huge, genuine, preserved moss surfaces – they belong in the forest, so why not?
We have also designed the perfect acoustics.
Our joiners invested a great deal of time and passion into this project. We are sustainable and eco-friendly, so there are no paper towels. Let us just say, after washing your hands, simply hold them out – the drying process is automatic. Don’t be scared!
Our love of Scandinavian design is reflected in the practice kitchen. Nothing has been left to chance here. Every single salt and pepper mill has been carefully selected by hand, while the practice’s colour scheme continues. Don’t hesitate to ask us if you want to eat or drink something. We are always happy to make you a sandwich!
For the treatment rooms, we have taken a classic approach to the Bauhaus style. Simple. Clean. Black. White. Fully interlinked. Without losing the attention to detail.
Endless surfaces in white as the dominant colour, clean lines, a single heated couch on cool concrete, green views, a fully networked entertainment centre and dimmable lounge light – welcome to our “Aesthetic Lounge”. Above all, you should be able to relax here. We take care of the rest.
We find pull-out screens boring and cumbersome. The photography studio is of great importance to us, because we try to achieve the best possible results with each intervention. High-quality and consistent documentation of your patient journey with us is all part of the parcel of good treatment. The rest of the story consists of a grey wall and lots of white YES’s!
Small surgical procedures are performed in this room, which has been equipped with only the highest quality materials. If you want to lie down, please get comfortable.
Black and white are the dominating colours here too. Everything is connected to the multimedia network so that you can fully relax during your treatment. Just play your favourite music and tap along with the beat. You may even forget that we are operating on you.
