Via Lumecca ILP, CO2 laser and innovative radio frequency. For an even and aesthetic complexion.
Laser treatments for age spots and co.
Lumecca IPL: Fast effects with intense pulsed light
Lumecca: a highly developed IPL technology (Intensive Pulsed Light) with which we can directly influence the melanin and therefore your hyperpigmentation. Using precisely dosed, concentrated light energy, pigment spots can often be lightened within just a few sessions. In many cases, they can also be completely removed. Our device is not comparable with cosmetic IPL variants. The deep treatment of pigment spots, wrinkles or disturbing vascular anomalies is reserved for specialists. Cosmetic devices only reach the uppermost skin regions.
Particularly suitable for:
- Sun and age spots
- Freckles
- Pigment disorders due to UV damage
Alma Pixel CO2: Skin renewal and treatment of stubborn pigmentation
With the fractionated CO2 laser, we remove pigment deposits layer by layer and promote skin renewal at the same time. During the treatment, micro-lesions are deliberately created to stimulate the regeneration process and the removal of excess melanin.
Particularly suitable for:
- Deep-seated pigment changes
- Age spots and sun damage
- Irregular skin textures
Important to know: Before any laser treatment, a detailed specialist consultation and an examination of the skin and pigmentation must be carried out. Book your non-binding consultation appointment at the Laser Center Bonn here!
Skin resurfacing: deep regeneration for an even complexion
In skin resurfacing, we combine various laser and radio frequency methods. The aim is comprehensive skin renewal and skin tightening. By removing the top layer of skin and the targeted stimulation of collagen, hyaluron and elastin, the tissue can be visibly refined, tightened and revitalized.
Particularly suitable for:
- Unevenness due to pigmentation
- Wrinkles and sagging skin areas
- Rejuvenation of the complexion
Morpheus 8: Supplement for sustainable results
Morpheus 8 is the latest generation of radiofrequency microneedling and a much-vaunted game changer in the field of skin improvement. This method can be used to strengthen the skin structure in depth. Depending on the condition of the skin, it can also be used after laser treatment to optimize regeneration and stabilize the results in the long term.
Particularly suitable for:
- Strengthening the tissue after laser treatments
- Improvement in skin firmness
- Deep-acting skin renewal
The mechanism of action
IPL works by using intensely pulsed, targeted light energy. This is absorbed by the melanin in the skin. The melanin is then heated, destroyed and broken down naturally by the body’s own metabolism. The treated areas gradually become lighter in the weeks following the treatment.
ALMA Pixel CO2 laser: We use the fractionated CO2 laser to create microscopically small holes in the skin and remove pigment deposits in this way. CO2 lasers have been used for more than 20 years and are constantly being improved. The latest devices are very gentle on the skin, cause hardly any downtime and enable pigment treatment in the submillimeter range. The thermal effect of the laser dissolves the pigments and at the same time activates the formation of new skin. As the laser only affects the skin at certain points, the surrounding skin areas remain unharmed.
Areas of application
Sun and age spots (lentigines solares/lentigines seniles)
Sun spots or freckles: These brown spots are caused by long-term UV exposure and are usually found on the face, hands, décolleté and forearms. They develop because our skin produces more melanin as a protective reaction, which then manifests itself in the form of darker areas. Freckles appear at any age, age spots usually only appear from the age of around 40, as the skin’s natural ability to regenerate decreases by then. Lumecca IPL and the CO2 laser can be good options here, as they target the excess melanin and do not affect the “healthy” skin. Depending on the skin type, a combination (alternating) may make sense.
Melasmas (Choasmas)
Melasma often occurs as a result of hormonal changes. For example, during pregnancy, when taking the pill (in combination with sunlight) or during the menopause. The pigmentation tends to be extensive and often symmetrical. The melasma is mainly located on the forehead, cheeks or in the area of the upper lip. In many cases, the Lumecca IPL is the method of choice.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Reddish or darker spots after acne, injuries or dermatological treatments can usually be reduced well with the CO2 laser. The skin is renewed, more balanced, brightened and revitalized (due to improved elasticity as a result of collagen production in the tissue).
Hyperpigmentation due to medication and skin diseases
Certain medications or dermatological diseases can cause uneven pigmentation. An individual approach makes sense here. A combination of laser treatments and skin-regenerating procedures such as Morpheus 8 can often improve the appearance of the skin in the long term.

Questions & Answers
Is laser treatment generally possible for all harmless pigment spots?
Not all pigment spots respond equally to laser therapy. While sun and age spots can be treated very well, hormonal melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may require a combination therapy. A prior skin analysis helps to determine the best individual method. Make a non-binding appointment for an initial consultation at the Laser Center Bonn.
How many sessions are required?
The number of sessions depends on the depth and intensity of the pigmentation spots. Superficial spots can often be lightened after just 1-2 sessions with Lumecca IPL, while deeper pigmentation with ALMA Pixel CO2 or a complete skin resurfacing can require up to 8 sessions.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients find the laser treatment well tolerated. Depending on the method, a slight feeling of warmth or a brief stinging sensation may occur. If the skin is sensitive, an anesthetic cream can provide further relief.
What should be considered before and after treatment?
Avoid intensive sun exposure for at least two weeks before the first session. This prevents further hyperpigmentation and also makes it easier to adjust the light energy required for the treatment. After the session, consistent UV protection with SPF 50 is essential, at least for a few weeks to months. You should also refrain from using aggressive peelings or skin-irritating cosmetics.
How long do the results last?
The results of laser treatment are generally long-term as long as the skin is well protected. However, new pigmentation can occur due to renewed UV exposure or hormonal factors. Regular sun protection and a healthy skin care routine help to keep the skin’s appearance even in the long term.
