Liposuction is a surgical treatment that involves removing fat cells from specific parts of the body. Liposuction is used to reduce fatty tissue and subcutaneous fat and to give the body a specific shape.
It is an issue most of us are all too familiar with: the difference between our desired appearance and our actual appearance. Despite doing lots of exercise and eating a balanced diet, some problem areas just refuse to change. You are careful about what you eat and pay attention to the number of calories you consume, while ensuring that you are burning a high number, but the results remain unsatisfactory. Early motivation turns into frustration. Saddlebags, lumpy knees, love handles and belly fat make life hard. Liposuction is one effective method that we can use to address these problem areas.
But you need to be aware of one thing: liposuction is not a miracle cure. It has its limits. It is ideally suited in cases where you have fatty deposits that do not budge, despite a healthy exercise regime and diet, where your body weight is no more than 30% above your ideal weight and where you have firm and supple skin and a good muscle tone. If you tick these boxes, liposuction should achieve very good results.
But liposuction can also be a starting point for change – for a new daily routine with more exercise and a healthier diet.
Liposuction is also a positive, guideline-oriented method for treating lipoedema, especially after patients have tried following frustrating, conservative therapies. Important: It is vital that the procedure is performed by a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery who has the appropriate manual and technical skills thanks to many years of specific training, and who has an eye for aesthetics so they are in a position to achieve the best possible results.
In recent years, Dr Jafar Jorjani has gained a high reputation as a specialist in lipoedema surgery, both across Germany and beyond. It is also one of the main areas of treatment that he performs in his specialist medical practice. You can find more information here.

For our liposuction, we use the so-called PAL (POWER-ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION) method – a vibration-based liposuction method that is considered the international “gold standard”.
The results of the liposuction can be clearly seen during the operation itself. The oscillating and vibrating liposuction needle breaks up the fat clusters and gently suctions them away. This method is far more gentle on the body’s tissue and is also less painful than other common methods.
The PAL procedure is well tolerated by the body, especially when it comes to skin retraction, and can create very smooth, homogeneous skin surface results when used by an experienced pair of hands. In certain cases, it is also possible to use the PAL method for so-called HIGH-DEFINITION liposuction.

HIGH-DEFINITION liposuction is one of Dr Jorjanis’ specialisms – he trained in this field alongside some of the best surgeons in the world. He is highly specialised in this area of treatment and has an extensive level of knowledge and expertise, which is quite unique within the region. High-definition liposuction is characterised by its highly athletic results. The trick here is that an existing, well-established muscular support framework is further defined in an especially pronounced way using special liposuction techniques. This requires a high degree of aesthetic understanding and experience, particularly when it comes to achieving homogeneous, natural-looking results. An ideal treatment is one where it is not obvious that any surgery has been performed at all. In men, we emphasise the straight and oblique abdominal muscles; in women, it is the central line of straight abdominal muscles and the corresponding shadows on both sides of these central muscles.

In addition to liposuction in the trunk area, Dr Jorjani also specialises in the extremities. Here, Dr Jorjani performs high-definition liposuction on the upper and lower arms, and upper and lower legs, taking precise care to contour the knee joints, ankles and calves. This expertise is particularly valuable in lipoedema surgery, as the limbs of the affected women have lost almost all shape due to the condition. As such, patients are dependent on their surgeon to not only “blindly” remove the diseased fatty tissue, but also to carefully reconstruct the original leg shape based on their skill and aesthetic eye – in all the necessary proportions.

And that is not all: the fat obtained through liposuction can then be transplanted into the face area as a filler to restore facial contours (e.g. in the cheek area), to treat wrinkles (e.g. nasolabial folds) or for lip modelling. Autologous fat is also ideal for increasing breast size (see breast enlargement) – with very natural results.

The BODYTITE™ process is one of the most effective and modern liposuction methods available for intraoperative skin tightening. Bipolar radiofrequency therapy is used to send energy directly where it is needed – the skin. The skin becomes thicker, more supple and tauter. BodyTiteTM is especially gentle on the lymphatic pathways, nerves and blood vessels.

After a detailed consultation and a comprehensive check-up, we will decide together which areas of the body should be treated. You must not take any aspirin or other blood-thinning medication 14 days prior to the operation.
The actual surgery takes around 1-3 hours and is carried out under local or general anaesthetic.
The body needs time to recuperate. The tissue must reconfigure itself and the skin needs to contract.
You will be able to see the actual reduction in volume immediately after the operation. But it will take around 6 to 9 months to see the final results of the liposuction. You need to wear compression clothing for 6 weeks after the operation in order to achieve the best results.
You can return to your normal routine after around 14 days.
We will discuss all of the potential surgical risks with you in detail prior to the operation.
Of course, all forms of surgery pose risks. As cosmetic surgery constitutes what is known as an elective, voluntary and non-medical intervention, it is even more important that the patient is fully informed and prepared for the operation. We offer our full support to you before and after the operation and are available 24/7 during this period.
